In the Fall of 2024, the City of Durham Neighborhood Improvement Services (NIS) contracted with Express & Release Therapeutic Dance to develop Healing Circles for the City of Durham.
After listening sessions and conversations with the city, we have decided to invest in the Bragtown area of Durham to help bring healing and hope back into the community.

Bragtown Healing Circles
Healing Through Community
Throughout the 2025 year, Express & Release will be creating emotion release stations around the Bragtown region of Durham.
Each month we will explore different emotion topics and navigate how that location of Bragtown makes us feel, how we express those feelings in safe ways, and how to release or sustain these emotions.
Through this Community-led program we hope to help the community heal by addressing and engaging with their hopes, anxieties, joys, sadnesses, anger, and freedom.
Sign-ups are not required but are helpful in ensuring we have enough food, childcare workers, translation services, and bus vouchers.
