An intermediate 6-week series that will focus on a different emotion topic each week, as we engage with movement practices around the emotions through poems, emotion-release dances, and new movement techniques. Our emotions will be chosen the week prior to the workshop, as we will invite participants to suggest emotions they want to explore together. This intermediate workshop will invite participants to explore the emotions and the body through breath, journaling, movement, and discussion. This series is for anyone who has already gone through our Gentle Movement Workshop 101 but wants to dive deeper. In this series, we will breathe, move, and learn how to normalize movement as our way to accept, express, and release our daily stressors and emotions. Through six-90-minute sessions, we will provide somatic (body-based) experiences and dance practices rooted in guided free movement to help you arrive home in your body and tap into its innate pathways for healing. This series has a special focus on exploring the emotions living in our bodies to ease stress, reduce anxiety, and bridge the gap between our mind, our body, and our emotions in an embodied way. *Students eligible for this class must have taken Gentle Movement Workshop 101.*
